.....Nearly
forty years have
passed since
the Airborne
Warriors of A
Company, 2nd
Battalion (Airborne),
8th Cavalry prowled
the jungles of
the Central Highlands
of Vietnam. None
of us will ever
forget the great
soldiers who
made up that
proud unit. Together,
we endured some
of the toughest
conditions an
infantryman can
experience. Every
day we think
about the heavy
loads we humped,
the mountains
we climbed, the
jungle we hacked
our way through,
the never ending
rain that drenched
us and the diseases
that afflicted
us. When we met
the enemy, we
fought on our
terms not theirs,
and always gave
better than we
got. We still
can remember
the exhilaration
of standing on
the strut of
a Huey, our weapons
at the ready,
as we air assaulted
into a hot LZ
under enemy fire.
Combat is something
you never forget.
Thankfully, the
years have gentled
the memories
of those times
and the hardships
we experienced.![]() .....Most of all, we remember our comrades, whose names are carved in the Wall and those who have left us since our return, each a brother, a father, a husband or son, they are with us always, in Honor and Courage. |

'All the
Way Brigade'.
